This 502 engine is engineered for improved boating performance. The massive GEN 6 502 big-block is a bolt-in replacement for your old Mercury or Volvo Penta Marine 454 or 502 engine. The increased displacement and improved breathing produces a significant improvement in overall power over the production marine 454 engine. The 502 engine is tuned for torque with high velocity square port heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft. This combination yields 500 lb ft. of torque at a stump pulling 3000 rpm and 450 horsepower at 5000 rpm.
